America First Works Applauds Oklahoma House Passage of the Parental Choice Tax Credit Act

Washington, DC – Yesterday, the Oklahoma House of Representatives passed House Bill 1935, the Parental Choice Tax Credit Act, adding Oklahoma to a growing list of states committed to expanding education opportunity for America’s children. America First Works (AFW) Executive Director Ashley Hayek released the following statement applauding the passage:

“Oklahoma parents should be able to decide the best education for their children. We have seen from depressed test scores, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, that a one size fits all education system is not in the best interest of students. Speaker Charles McCall delivered a win for parents and students, and AFW is urging the Oklahoma State Senate to do the same. Education freedom should be available to every student in the Sooner State,” AFW Executive Director Ashley Hayek said.

Oklahoma House Bill 1935, the Parental Choice Tax Credit Act, allows Oklahoma families to qualify for a $5,000 per child education tax credit that puts private education within reach for students. This would be a huge win for Oklahomans, and that’s why AFW is urging for its swift passage. Governor Kevin Stitt has already voiced support for this bill, leaving the Oklahoma State Senate with the greenlight to deliver school choice for the Sooner State.

AFW, the advocacy arm of the America First Policy Institute, is working to ignite the spirit of the Nation. We believe in the American people. We will fight for a pro-America America where freedom, equality, and justice remain the foundation of our Republic. We are patriots who will deliver the America First agenda for generations to come.
