“Yesterday, Representative Gooden of Texas released the B-Verify Act to Improve Border Security. The bill expands the requirements for collecting biometric data at the border for illegal aliens. It also builds off policies proposed under the Trump Administration and is an effective measure to deter asylum and immigration fraud. The bill also protects migrant children from human trafficking by verifying familial relationships at the border or before being placed with a potential sponsor. The situation along our southern border is a severe humanitarian and national security crisis. This legislation would help curtail the abuse of children and protect American communities.”
