Democrats want more of the same after sneaking ‘Free Money’ to Special Interests, Illegal Immigrants, China, and beyond into Massive Spending Bill
Spending more money to make government bigger will bankrupt America. Ultra-liberals in Congress and White House should practice fiscal restraint and STOP unnecessarily running up the government credit card while families across the country are trying to put food on the table and feeling pain at the pump.
Democrats in Congress and President Biden want to spend more money on their so-called Build Back Better spending plan weeks after proposing another reckless multi-trillion-dollar budget, representing the highest tax increase in history and two weeks after signing the last massive big government socialist omnibus spending bill. The last trillion-dollar-plus spending bill, signed by President Biden on March 14, makes government bigger and recklessly gives billions of dollars to the wealthiest one percent of Americans, politicians, country clubs, and media companies. The omnibus spending bill also included supplemental aid for Ukraine and multiple other provisions that should have been handled separately.
- Three hundred seventy-three American economists agree that more reckless government spending is wrong for America and would hurt the very people President Biden claims to want to help. “Policies that increase inflation, increase the federal debt, reduce the number of people working, and hobble economic debt are bad for America.”
Democrats’ LAST spending bill spent TRILLIONS of dollars to make government bigger, fanning the flames of global inflation – and Biden’s budget wants more of the same.
- The recent spending bill that President Biden signed on March 14 spends more than $1.47 trillion at a time when our national debt is $30.4 trillion. Biden’s FY23 Budget wants to spend $5.8 trillion
- The bill is a 5.7 percent spending increase, growing the non-military size of government and, while keeping pace with current inflation levels (according to the Committee for a Responsible Budget), needlessly exacerbating government spending. Biden’s FY23 Budget wants to spend MORE (see chart)
- Boosting the IRS, including its enforcement division, by 14 percent (or $13 billion), the most significant increase in two decades, to go after American citizens and small businesses. Biden’s FY23 Budget wants to spend MORE (see chart)
- $108 million increase to add enforcement agents to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Division during a global supply chain and driver shortage crisis, representing a 14 percent budget increase when crashes have been trending downward and even decreased 17 percent since 2019. Biden’s FY23 Budget wants to spend $857 million MORE
- Of note, $120 million in taxpayer funds to protect journalists and activists of multimillion dollar organizations and corporations operating in Ukraine.
- Finally, the last spending bill continues to pay Americans to stay home and not work by extending government-funded unemployment insurance without work requirements when there are more job openings than ever before and people looking for work.
