WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Works (AFW) praised the Ohio General Assembly for overriding Governor Mike DeWine’s veto of H.B. 68, the SAFE Act, which protects Ohio’s children from irreversible “gender” surgeries and prevents men from participating in women’s sports. AFW released the following statement:
“Fortunately for Ohio’s children, the Ohio State Legislature was looking out for them after Governor DeWine shamefully refused. Allowing the Left to prey on children with permanent ‘gender’ surgeries is a nonstarter in the America First movement, as is allowing men to compete in women’s sports, and Governor DeWine’s top priority should have been protecting them. Instead, he caved to leftist special interests.
The SAFE Act should have never been vetoed. Thankfully, Ohio’s House of Representatives and Senate corrected this wrong because they understand who they serve: The people of the Buckeye State!”
